The
track is pretty tight so tall sprockets are the order of the day. Food is
available, as are ablution facilities.Camping facilities/chalets are only
about 2km from the track. The pits are uncovered so it gets warm in summer
- Umbrellas are a good idea. Spectator vantage points are typically inside
of Turn 8 and outside of Turn 4.
- (Start: Turn 1 ignored and you go down to turn 4.) Turn 1 -You
approach Turn 1 at max speed. An easy corner but important as it's
somewhat tighter than it looks on the plan and is quite critical for
setting up Turn 2 correctly. Slow in, fast out is probably a good
maxim here.
- Turn 2 is a tricky set of set of lefthanders which become off-camber
around the centre apex ... Overcooking it here spoils your run through
Turn 3 (flat out) down to Turn 4. It also leaves you quite vulnerable
to an overtaking bid.
- Turn 4 - A late apex allows you a good line for Turns 5 & 6,
which in turn influence your speed all the way down to Turn 9.
- Turns 5 & 6 are taken flat out (for F100 at least) but you are
pretty much on the edge. Sliding here scrubs off your speed all the
way through Turn 7, which is vital for good laptimes.
- Turn 7 is flat out all the way through, clipping the inside kerb
before committing to Turn 8. Unless you are much faster it's very
difficult to pass on the outside here. Passing on the inside is only
possible if your opponent drifts wide (or, if you're Rob Bakewell, by
using the "brown tar" on the inside for a least 1/2 your
kart).
- Turn 8 - Taken WFO. If you get the entry wrong (too early apex for
Turn 8 or a hefty bump on the kerb) you will either find yourself
sliding through the infield at Turn 8, or being overtaken down to the
hairpin Turn 9.
- Turn 9 is hard on the brakes and finesse through on full power. Turn
9 is a great place to overtake, both inside and outside.
- Turn 10 - The chicane .... taken flat out ..... wide enough to
overtake .... almost.
